I miss you Jerusha. You brought a laughter to DeVry unlike no other. You were our office angel. When the days were so stressful you made all of us remember what it was like to be young and carefree. You were beautiful and now you are in heaven smiling down on us.

Love,
Patty

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Jerusha as a teen because my family moved away from Texas in 1997. But I did know her as a little girl. I can still picture her adorable, round face with all that long beautiful blond hair flowing down her back. She was so quite and had the sweetest little smile. After reading so many of the posts on this site and myspace, I see that she kept that sweet smile and I'm so glad. Jerusha was in my dad's Sunday School class for a year or so. During that time, I remember my dad saying so many times how smart Jerusha was and how she stuck out about all the others. I also remember her demonstrating that at the Sunday School program at the end of the year. She couldn't have been more than about 5 or 6 and my dad had a quiz show that he hosted up on the stage for all of the members of his class. None of the kids knew what questions he was going to ask, so it was a pretty big deal for 5 and 6 year old kids. Jerusha knew all the answers!

I was shocked and saddened when I stumbled upon this group. Jerusha was one of my favorite seniors at TAMS and was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. After she gave me a ride to Houston for a travel weekend, I felt so lucky to ride with such an awesome person. I paid for her to be my date at the Valentine's Day Dance Auction, and I can confidently say that that was the best money I've spent, because that time with her was priceless and will forever be ingrained in my memory. She was truly a beautiful human being and her soul will live on through our memories.

I'm missing her soooo much too!!
And I decided today that I'm going to write the Big Brownie books (or at least one book about the amazing adventures of Big Brownie) that we always used to joke about writing, and I'm going to dedicate them to the memory of Jerusha.

Jerusha was so very loved by so many people and if you were not able to make it to the funeral, there were SO many friends and loved ones there to support her and her family. I share the same memories of Jerusha that so many of you share. Her smiling face, her beatiful eyes, the sweetness in her voice. I just wish that I had spent more one on one time with Jerusha than I did. As Holly mentioned, I wish so badly we had known just how difficult it was for her to deal with the things going on inside her mind and could have helped her somehow. There is something though that we all can look forward to and that is the fact that Jerusha is no longer suffering those things anymore, but is merely sleeping until Christ returns to raise her again from her sleep and we will Lord willing see her again very soon. God be with you all in your grief and sadness at this time but know that there is still hope for Jerusha.

Hey Hannah! I'm glad you found this page! :-) (That's J-Ru's older sister, for anyone who's wondering.) And as much as I'd love to take the credit for starting this group, but it was actually Lorenzo's idea, so mad kudos to him. *Round of applause*

I want to say thank you so much to Alex for doing all of this, and thank you to everyone who has wrote about Jerusha on here and myspace. We have gotten so much support from so many people. People are always around when things are good, but it's nice to know who will be there for you when things get rough. I know who those people are now more than ever. I have a lot of new pics on my page, mostly of Jerusha for anyone who wants to see them. For whoever doesn't have it, my url is www.myspace.com/hannah964. For everybody that wants the video from the funeral, please send me your email addresses and I'll get it out to you. Thanks and take care. Love yall

I will never forget always seeing her big, beautiful smile everyday in our hallway. Just that brightened my every day.
